Game 78: UndoubtedLEE

Game 77: It's Miller Time!

The struggling Red Sox narrowly avoided a sweep by beating the Pirates today, 4-2, behind six innings from formerly hot prospect Andrew Miller. The four game losing streak mercifully over, the Red Sox move on to Philadelphia for a series that starts Tuesday.

Game 76: Walking The Plank

The Red Sox dropped another game in the Steel City yesterday, 6-4, with the offense struggling mightily in what has become a National League Death March. The Red Sox have one game left against Pittsburgh today before visiting the City of Brotherly Love Tuesday.

Game 75: Avast! Ye Scurvy Dogs!

The Red Sox dropped their third straight game, 3-1 to the Pirates last night. The struggles against a supposedly weak National League continue today and tomorrow, then Tuesday in Philadelphia, and then into the holiday weekend in Houston. Hopefully the struggles end today.

Games 69-71: A Pyrrhic Weekend Song

Over the weekend, the Red Sox took two of three from the Brew Crew, a pair of pastings, 10-4 and 12-3, sandwiched around a 4-2 loss in the middle. However, the victories were not without cost, as we start the new week without CC Music Factory and Cowboy Clay, both of whom are in the MASH unit with hopefully short term injuries.

Game 68: Pyrrhic Victories

The Red Sox defeated Tampa Bay and the Naughty Fish yesterday, 4-2, albeit with both Cowboy Clay and Farmer Jed removed with hopefully mild injuries. The Red Sox return to open the Interleague Bonanza today with Prince Fielder and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Game 67: Beckett's Back (And There's Gonna Be Trouble...)

Josh Beckett took the ball after yesterday's shutout and blanked the Naughty Fish himself, tossing a one hit wonder at Tampa in a 3-0 win last night. The two teams play again today at the Juice Box, Cowboy Clay facing off against David Price.

Congratulations to the Bruins for bringing home the Stanley Cup last night, 4-0. Let's hope that's the first of two Boston titles this year.

Game 65: Bring Out Your Dead

Yesterday in Toronto, the Red Sox fell upon Canadian supply trains with great vengeance and furious anger, pounding out a 14-1 beatdown upon the hapless denizens of Universal Health Care.

Games 63 and 64: Like Ethan Allen through the Wilderness

The Red Sox rampaged through Canada like Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys, shutting down the Blue Jays 5-1 on Friday before blowing their doors off on Saturday, a 16-4 rampage that was their 8th straight win. It looks like my April cynicism may have been misplaced, methinks.

Game 62: Through The Long Night

After a rain delay of nearly four hours, the Red Sox needed a 7 run seventh inning last night, started and finished by hits from Big Papi, to force an 8-3 win over the Yankees and a series sweep. The Sox move across the border to Toronto for a game tonight.

Game 61: AJ Burnett is the English Translation of "Daisuke"

In the Garden of Good and Evil last night, the Red Sox continued their battering of the Yankees, winning 11-6. After shredding the Yankee bullpen last night, the Sox continued the onslaught against AJ Burnett, who was wild and deeply hittable, absorbing a 7 run beating. Our own Ancient Mariner, Timmeh, went into 5 and dive mode, but the Aceman stood strong in the breach, going 3 2/3 with only one run allowed, earning his first save of the season. The two teams finish the series tonight, with Big CC taking on the Commander.

Game 60: Finishing The Hat

Last night in the Center of the Universe, the Red Sox chased Freddy Garcia early but had to hang on to beat the Yankees, 6-4. The Lord of the Dance racked up save number 200, and David Ortiz brought the party that rocked your body With a two run homer. The two teams play again tonight.

Games 57,58, and 59: Revenge Is Sweet

Licking their wounds after a Chicagoland massacre, the Red Sox came back with a weekend sweep of the Athletics, a pair of close wins, 8-6 Friday and 9-8 in 14 Saturday. Today's game was old fashioned Bang and Blame, Gonzilla and CC Music Factory slamming homers, which went nicely with 5 2/3 innings from the reanimated corpse of John Lackey. The Red Sox enter the Garden of Good and Evil, facing the Yankees in the Stadium.

Game 55 and 56:
